School’s almost out, suitcases are in the process of being planned and packed, and that holiday you’ve been looking forward to is almost here!

1. Pack a Surprise Bag
Before you fly, fill a small backpack with a few goodies that your child hasn’t seen before. Think colouring books, stickers, crayons, puzzles, or mini games. Unwrapping a surprise adds excitement and can buy you some precious quiet time! I would aim for one small surprise for each hour on the plane.
2. Load Up the Tablet
Pre-download everything onto the kids’ tablet - WiFi can be sketchy on a flight so doing this before you leave will allow you to be ready to rock and roll! Don’t forget their headphones - no-one wants to hear the Peppa Pig soundtrack on full volume lol! Also, do not feel guilty about screen time: this will enable you to keep your sanity and keep the kids happy!
3. Bring Snacks – Lots of Snacks!
All parents know that hungry kids = grumpy kids. Pack a variety of healthy treats plus a few special goodies they don’t usually get.
4. Play Games
Old school games never go out of style: I-Spy, 20 Questions, or “Who can spot the next red suitcase?” can keep little minds busy without any packing required.
5. Pack Something for the Holiday too!
Double up on the entertainment by bringing a few toys in your carry on that will double as holiday-ready toys. Not only will they be useful as an in-flight distraction, they can be used pool side too.
